Can the EXS24 be run in standalone mode?

Just curious... Can the EXS24 be run in standalone mode and if so how?

Hi

The short answer is 'NO': none of the plugins included with Logic or Mainstage can run in standalone mode, they are only available in these applications.

The real question might be "why would you want to?".

I guess the correct way to phrase my question would be how do I use the EXS24 as a plug-in with another software sequencer... But I think I've found the answer I was looking for... If it's possible. I need to give it a try.

Yeah... I found that one out. EXS24 is for Logic only. Unless of course they came out with an AU/VST version of a sample player for the EXS.

Hi

If I remember correctly, there was an EXS24P plugin way, way back in the days of Logic 5 (?) and the Logic 'Big Box'.

I have no idea if this'll work on more up-to-date OS's.

There is also an app in the developer section of the OSX installationthat can run any AU and you can tunnel the MIDI internally from Logic to that app via the IAC Driver. However, EXS is not an AU plugin so that doesn't apply the EXS Sampler.
