Printing with ipad 2 without computer

I want to rpint directly from my ipad 2 to my usb printer (hp laserjet 1018) with an airport express but without a computer. Can someone tell me if this is possible? I don't want to trow away my old printer ( which works well) and I dont want to activate my computer all the time.

I found the solution elsewhere. You have to go to tools web and do an update with the printer connected to the internet. Then take it of the network and follow the instructions for setting up the ad hoc network. It works perfectly. I am so excited to have this working. I called the Ad hoc network iprint and I just have to switch netwoks from the network I use to connect to the internet to the printer to print!

It it is airprint compatible no computer is needed, just select Print from any app that has it and your printer should be there as a choice.

From HP's Website, note the need to update the firmware on some, have you checked yours yet?
