Wondershare's AllMyTube extension's conflict?

I have been using Wondershare's AllMyTube and find that while it works well there could be memory leaks? Further, and of more concern, that it's integration into Safari could actually conflict with Extensions. I find that AdBlock and Simplify GR are both not working and that they did when I uninstalled AllMyTube, but now reinstalling it they've stopped working, again.

Can anybody confirm this?

I have been using the free version of Allmytube with success and purchased the full version. Afterwards nothing works. It only downloads appr. 30 - 40 seconds of any kind op video from You tube - I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, go back to the free version, change internet connection etc. The wondershare support cannot help (though being very kind).

Any suggestions???

They are courteous, after all they're Chinese. All I know is there is a decent update coming soon and that there cannot be both the free and the paid version on your system at the same time. There could be a conflict between them, but you *should* badger them about it.

They come from the Windows world, so their concept of uninstalling and installing themselves into a program is stuck there, for now. I told them they should release a Safari extension separately and not try to force their way in, that would stop the conflicts. That would then mean the software could just be deleted to be uninstalled, where as they include an uninstaller.

Yep, the Mac platform severely lacks a decent YouTube downloader.

There is the Free iTube Grabber which can capture almost any audio and/or video stream (it says here) but only works with Intel Macs.

Firefox Download Helper is also supposed to work, you have to be logged into YouTube first.

and the RealPlayer Downloader that comes with RealPlayer SP for Mac from:

http://www.real.com/realplayer/mac

which also downloads videos from YouTube.

There is also iTubeX which allows you to download videos (Flash, HTML5 and others), .mp3 and .swf files from almost every website as easily as possible:

Lastly: How to download Flash videos and play them in Quicktime using Perian is explained here:

It's the video at the bottom of the page.

Evaluating iTubeX I like the ability to download the mp4 file, but not sure if this is a real-time conversion or not?

As they're both paid and have many uses I think I'll go with Wondershare in the end because it allows me to download any video from any website, in the Safari browser mind, and not just from YouTube.

I had trouble with the AllMyTube Safari extension. I have no idea how it got into my system; perhaps when I was trying the AllMyTubes app. It caused a 'Download' pop-up link to appear when i was using all sorts of websites — especially in these Discussions! — and did not work without the app. anyway. I have uninstalled it. But I have been quite successfully using MacTubes (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/28608/mactubes), a free app. which accesses many different video sites and has a wide choice of output formats and qualities.
