Has anyone else been unable to access projects/create events on an external hard drive? I've been trying to do this all morning but FCP X seems unwilling to have the drives show up. For all the features that have been stripped away, one would think this would be easier. What am I missing?
open up FCx. go to file. go to new. go to library. there it'll ask you where you want to open this new (empty) library. your external hard drives will be in the list of places to chose from. chose whichever external hard drive you want. you'll see a library pop up in your events list on the left side of fcx screen. once you establish this new library you can then import whatever to it and it'll be on the external hard drive you selected, and not on your home drive. this is sort of a backdoor way of doing it but I don't know how else.hope this helps
