Email notification on sub-folders

This is about receiving new email notification. I do receive notifications about new email to my inbox. But I have several folders in my yahoo and gmail and I have set up rules/filter for the new emails to move directly to these folder when they meet the criteria. Now iPhone does not notify me when there is new email there. I'd see new email when I login to web interface of yahoo/gmail. This is frustrating and I am wondering why noone else is finding this problem or talked about this.

Any clue/suggestions ?

thanks

Has anyone come up with a solution to this yet? Im almost selling my iphone 7 plus 128mb because of that. I used to work with the app Nine on Android. They dont do ios. Then I tried several ios email apps. 2 of them count the subfolders but failed on other areas

The rest doesnt

Neither does Apple Mail as previously mentioned. I dont want to create a rule to copy emails to the Inbox.

Please help! I like the phone but this is not owrking to my work style.

i found a solution in form of 2 apps - myMail (free) and newton mail (paid, $50/yr).

newton mail is WOW, i used it back when it was free and called cloudmagic, but $50 per year is a bit too much for me to pay.

so i switched to myMail and i cannot say i regreted it 🙂 on my work IMAP account i have about 15 (sub)folders and you can choose for which folders you get notification when there is new e-mail. i use it for total of 4 accounts, works well with IMAP, gmail and hotmail. Same thing does the newton mail, tho newton mail looks far more cool 🙂 also, newton mail has 2 weeks free trial period, so you can try it if you want. hope i helpded 🙂

I know how to open all folders in my yahoo or gmail account with iphone but the point is about iPhone's notification.I have like 10 differet folders for yahoo and more for gmail, I want to be notified of the new email when it goes to one of these folders. Whats the purpose of notification if I have to manually go to each of the sub-folders every 5 mins or so to check if there is new email or not ?

Hope you understood my problem here.

Maybe you have sold your iPhone by now :), but on the iPad, I simply accessed yahoo on safari and then you click on the Share button on the top and it gives you !the option to save it on your home screen. So you get a separate icon you click on on the desktop and it opens up a page in safari with all the folders showing. Yes, yes, that's no notification, but at least you can take a quick look and see if something has come in. Rather than opening all subfolders....
