APPLE - GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!!!

This is not a Final Cut Pro piece of editing software.

This is iMovie with some enhanced features, hence the ability to import older iMovie projects,

but not Final Cut Pro projects.

I HAVE SPENT THE ENTIRE DAY BEING BOUNCED AROUND FROM THE APP STORE PEOPLE,

TO THE ITUNES PEOPLE TO THE FINAL CUT PEOPLE.

Each time they tell me another department handles what I need to have done.

When you misrepresent a product as poorly as this, people will not stand for it.

This is a joke of a "pro" app and Apple should stand up and take the punch to the stomach.

Apple you built your rep on making great products, maybe this one made sense somewhere in the

test labs, but in real life it leaves millions of professional editors who rely on FCP everyday to make a

living.

Take FCP 7, add in 64bit and I'll give you $300. Keep everything else the same for all I care, but this

app (FCPX) is completely useless for any form of professional editing.

Hey bro(NightNinjaPDX) read this discussion watch the news, google it, youtube it. FCPX is the latest joke everywhere! They will be sorry because there is no longer a reason to buy expensive MACs as Premiere and Avid work on pc's. Do the math son!

Do you really believe in Supermen that fly around and have tea with the President and contact Billionaires(e.g. S Jobs) when they are upset?

Open your eyes Son I'm not alone they have ****** off a lot of people!

I am a pro user... and i REALLY cant understand you.

I demoed FCPX in all my partners (editors and directors) in a trailer compartment of the biggest TV channel in my country and the really liked it.

We dont use EDL of course (who use it anymore ?) , and after a brief trainning they can easy edit on it !

I searched a lot to find some things, but now i stronlgy beleive that THIS is the right way to edit ...

All problems you have, sooner or later will be solved.

Therre are some plugins already and many more are coming.

Aja and other compoanies has some beta drivers already too... and they prepare final releases .

We can export OMF via Automatic duck and more utilitiew may come (if you are really PROS , its not big deal to buy a plugin so usefull to you !)

Who cares if its just iMovie Pro or FC X ?

I can work now a lot faster .

Time will tell ....

(i am currently work with Avid media composer too, and me and all my partners hate it ...)

So how do you propose to output from your trailer?

JohnSpirou I don't know in which country you live, but in the civilized world we still use EDL and XML!

Also nobody said that the whole product sucked there are some good things in there, except that the things you need to actually get a result that you can burn on DVD or Broadcast is not in there.

For the live of me I hate the new "color disruptor" *sorry corrrector. I couldn't find the broadcast safe filter. Also I think you must live in the deep forrest of Congo or a bankrupt country like Greece because in the civilized world we have money for more than one camera and I didn't see any multicam edit features! You have to cut through layers of different footage -- I did that on FCE and after the second project I realized that I needed Final Cut Pro. I am a prosumer editor and I miss so many features let alone a real broadcast or feature film editor; In a country that is fully evolved of course!

We dont use tapes anymore to output our footage.

We have network shares space , and we provide Apple pro res footage (and other formats from PC too) our master control .

Most of our source is tape but we have other formats too (file based systems).

You can use Aja card and AJA VTR EXCHANGE and other utilities (beta driver for the moment) to capture your footage

and output the SDI signal out.

Its only 3 days that FCP X is out... give it a chance guys !

Do you remember how bad was with FCP 1 ?

Jun 24, 2011 3:04 PM in response to hypnomentalist

hypnomentalist, the entire universe does not revolve around the United States of America, nor Cupertino. JohnSpirou may well live in your blessed land, or he may not. He may have an accent or he may not. He may well have a better education than you have. Given your apparent xenophobia, the latter seems likely.

I live in a country that right now is dealing with its deficits. Intelligence is not one of them. Quite what your rant has to do with a new and deficient piece of editing software I'm not sure.

Many people live in America. They include Sarah Palin and Donald Trump. Be not so proud, and give him his due.

The discussion has more to do with the insufficiencies of FCPX for the professional market.

No one in the professional arena is saying that FCPX is bad - they are saying it is not a professional editing application despite the fact that Apple continues to market it as such.

I believe alot of the criticsms will go away if Apple stops promoting FCPX as a professional software. You can read up the thread to see why FCPX does not fit a professional workflow.

But to those who have no choice but to be dedicated to a professional workflow, FCPX is not the solution. Therefore, we have no choice but to ditch the FCP pipeline and pursue other editing solutions.

My shop is already looking at a replacement for FCP7, and it's just so unfortunate that FCPX and the lack of the continuation of the FCP7 pipeline is forcing us to look elsewhere.

FCP -- RIP 2011
