APPLE - GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!!!

This is not a Final Cut Pro piece of editing software.

This is iMovie with some enhanced features, hence the ability to import older iMovie projects,

but not Final Cut Pro projects.

I HAVE SPENT THE ENTIRE DAY BEING BOUNCED AROUND FROM THE APP STORE PEOPLE,

TO THE ITUNES PEOPLE TO THE FINAL CUT PEOPLE.

Each time they tell me another department handles what I need to have done.

When you misrepresent a product as poorly as this, people will not stand for it.

This is a joke of a "pro" app and Apple should stand up and take the punch to the stomach.

Apple you built your rep on making great products, maybe this one made sense somewhere in the

test labs, but in real life it leaves millions of professional editors who rely on FCP everyday to make a

living.

Take FCP 7, add in 64bit and I'll give you $300. Keep everything else the same for all I care, but this

app (FCPX) is completely useless for any form of professional editing.

I agree with you. That was all I was trying to say. Apple are not stupid. They are innovative and put out great stuff. Yes sometimes they may seem like they don't care but they always prove us wrong. And everybody who says they have supported Apple for a lifetime should know this and either shut up and try to learn it and wait it out, or don't. I DO agree they should not kill FCP7 but I don't believe they are, i think they will either listen to the pros and bring back support, or everything will be fine in fcpx in the near future. People complaining about the workflow cannot possibly even be trying it. The organization capabilities for large projects are incredible. The speed is incredible. I just imported 87 HD clips into a new event and it took like a minute. How is that a bad thing? Because it is not called a ''bin" people cannot handle it. It is like Windows users who switch to Mac and complain that they cannot do anything when they already did it! They just did not know they could do something with one click instead of five!

I think you're wrong (and I also would like to correct you on your grammar, Apple IS a company, so the correct statement would be "Apple IS not stupid").

I've used FCPX, quite extensively and I still hate it. I'm an industry professional, meaning I use this every day in a professional broadcast environment. FCPX, or iMovie Pro, is slow, clunky, and is a HUGE step back. In terms of workflow, I was FREE to develop my own workflow in FCP 7. iMovie Pro forces everyone to work the same. I don't like this. I've refined my workflow over the last 10 years and guarantee I could edit faster and more efficiently than ANYONE using iMovie Pro. I know crap when I see it, and iMovie Pro is crap! Leave the pro products to the pros!

RIP FCP

I'm not sure that Apple Stores really expect to see many "high end" users walk through the door. I've noticed most customers have only a vague idea of what they want. The mostly part time college kids in my local store are smart and well intentioned and can usually find someone who has experience in advanced image/video work.

Apple Stores normally have examples of what they stock in the store on display. Ask the store manager. He/she is usually dressed differently.

I called Apple about this to see how people can get their money back for jumping the gun and downloading it before they waited to read reviews and they said that there is a 7 day window for you to do so. The woman I spoke too even refered to FCPX as "Final Cut Vista" because of how poorly i tis dooing with the customer base. Wow... 1-800-MY-APPLE they will take care of you.

NightNinjaPDX, are you still bothering to post? Is your teenage ego insatiable? I've said this once and here it is again:

One of the most enjoyable aspects of this discussion is that the people who think they're defending it the hardest are doing a better job of destroying it than any trolls from elsewhere. The fanboy talkups have gutted its credibility far quicker than any criticism its dinosaur former user base could have leveled, and far more surely than Avid users' disdain. You guys have given me more entertainment than I've had in years!

Not quite sure what your Hollywood Pro movie careers will look like though... streaming the next Avatar from your bedrooms? Money in that?

@hvxuser: I was about to post on the same subject. I have been reading a lot of posts here over the last few weeks and I am baffled by the amount of People who write "Apple are..."

Now this is TOTALLY apart from the arguments about FCpX (or FUCX, as i like to call it) and i am not rating anybody's intelligence on this point, But Apple - as a corporation - is a single entity. Therefore "Apple is"!

Ok. I feel better now. Back to the rants.
