Not too many folks are keeping their Final Cut X software it seems.  Not worth it..I just applied for my refund.

Hope it goes through, totally not useable as it doesn't open any of my project files.

    Crazy...

I think of all the problems, the craziest one is that you cant open existing FCP files in this new "pro" product.  I mean they couldn't write this into the program before releasing it. ????

Quick update: my bank statement registered a full refund today.

My request for a refund was denied.

    Got this inetersting email though.

    Dear James,

Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Vishal and I am glad to assist you today.

I understand from this mail that the applications "Final Cut Pro, Compressor, and Motion" are having content issues and hence would like a refund on the same. I am sure you are eager to get this resolved at the earliest as possible.

James, Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.

Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.

    Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,

    Vishal

I have applied for another refund though. Going to keep trying.

Keep trying and don't let them get away with it.

They can't sell you an app under false pretence, regardless the "cheap" price. The software is NOT what they advertised, and if you're unable to use it you are entitled to a refund.

They'll probably try to stall and the next thing you'll hear is that you "waited too long" with your complaint. I'm just guessing - but it could be they are a bit overwhelmed by the amount of refund claims.

I will most definitely keep trying. I find it interesting the reason they wouldn't refund me was because they say they are working on a fix. They referred specifically to my gripe about not being able to import FCP7 sequences...

Why did you go through Itunes support instead of the App store?

  • jimdins Level 1 (0 points)

because itunes and the mac app store are one and the same. i used the same form as everyone else on here.

  • SwissKahuna Level 1 (10 points)

I think the complaints all go to the same departement.

I generally don't care abou the refund path--I want things to work, or learn to work with them.

The "spinning CD/Beach Ball" the fact that transitions work sometimes and not others, the fact that when I add closing titles, it seems to also insert the previously deleted clip segment with the edits (that's a wierd one to track down, by the way) and just the overal fact that this is a horribly SLOW application to work with... and top it off with the mouse moving across the timeline and the preview window playing quickly (scrubbing) when you really don't want that function... I'd say, sure iMovie Pro, possibly, Final Cut Pro, absolutely not. This "pro app" is a joke. I too will apply for a refund.

Sorry, Apple, I tried and failed at Final Cut Pro X, as did your designers.

Just BTW I'm sure that there is a button on the timeline to turn that "feature" off. I can't check as I've already been refunded on this.

The S will toggle skimming off and on. Shift-S will toggle audio skimming. There are buttons in the timeline as well, and it's in the View menu.

Maybe Apple will add a "Request Refund" button, just below the send to Youtube link, in the next update....
