My ipod was left outside overnight,was damp when found.Not working gut has been on windowsill for 5 days to dry out.Can they be fixed or is all hope lost & i have to buy anew one & download all my music again !!!!!!!!!!!

Most water damaged iPod's need to be replaced.
Apple will replace the iPod for a flat fee (they do not repair your unit). You can find pricing here:

There are third-party service centers that may offer repair services, but a nano has so few parts inside that it's perhaps unlikely that anyone could repair it for less than Apple's exhange service. But you can contact such a company and ask. Sorry, I can't make any recommendations as to a reliable company, though someone else here may be able to.

Fantastic link. What a great find Mr. Sawyer. Link will be great for those "how much will this cost" type posts pertaining to iPods.
There are literally hundreds of those "rice drying" videos on YouTube.
That information is pretty easy to find via the Support tab above, so it wasn't any major discovery on my part, but thanks.
After five days of sitting and drying, putting the iPod in a bag of rice at this point is unlikely to help Deborah's situation, but it won't hurt, certainly, so it would be worth a try.
