Safari won't install on Mac OS X 10.6.8

I've been having a problem with Safari. After I updated to 10.6.8, I thought it might fix the problem, but it didn't. I uninstalled Safari, this time with AppDelete, which I just recently discovered, and now I can't reinstall it. It's the newest version from Apple. When I try to install it it says that it requires OS X version 10.6.7. Please help.

Note: I heard about a program for Mac that can force install apps onto mac, and I used to have it. I don't anymore, and I can't remember the name of it. I lost it because I reinstalled my OS.

Download Safari 5.05 here. Then open the dmg file with Pacifist. Select the safari pkg file, right click and install/move to default location. Done.

I don't see why someone would start a new thread. This is the precise same problem as others on this thread have experienced.

Folks....I'm running 10.6.8 and trying to download a bank statement with Safari 5.05 but get the same result as 5.1. When I click on the view statment button it opens a window showing Quicktime and nothing happens.

It used to open a pdf file prior to 10.6. Firefox works fine.

Any tips for getting Safari 5.05 to work?

I take it back. I forgot to do the right click for destination folder.

It works now! At least so far!

I need to install Safari 4.0. because my workt does'nt support Safari 5.0 and higher. The problem is that i get a error that i need to have Mac OS X 10.4. Can someone help me getting Safari 4.0 installed on a Mac OS X 10.6.8??
