How do I remove spy software from my iPhone 4?

I believe that I have spy software on my phone. From what I have seen advertised online phone calls, numbers, SMS/MMS and email can all be monitored. The iPhone 4 is one of the smart phones listed on these various sites. How can I find out if this software is indeed on my phone and how can I get rid of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you can only get spyware on your iPhone if it's jailbroken.

Is your phone jailbroken?

If it is, this may not be the best place to seek help.

If it isn't, I wouldn't be too worried and you can always restore it to a backup or factory default.

EDIT***I just checked and SPY BUBBLE can only be installed on jailbroken iPhones.

Then no spyware has been installed on your iPhone.

You restore your iPhone with iTunes by selecting Restore under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If you are convinced your iPhone has been compromised in some fashion, don't restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup which is the default selection when doing so. Restore your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.

The great thing about most smart phones, even the iPhone, software just doesn't install itself on them. You can only install apps from the App Store. So if you have installed an app from somewhere other than the app store, simply uninstall it. Know that jailbreaking your phone opens yourself to unknown possibilities, be willing to accept them.

Spy Bubbles can ONLY be installed on a jailbroken phone. It is not spyware, but an app designed to monitor and report back to someone about your activity. There is no way it could have gotten onto your phone by accident if indeed, it is there.

Either there is nothing going on and you're mistaken or someone has jailbroken your phone and installed this app to monitor you... Assuming you didn't jailbreak your phone yourself.

If your phone is NOT jailbroken, then you don't have to worry. If it is, it can't be discussed here as this would violate the TOS for this forum.

You may be able to undo the damage by restoring as a new device. Once you do, I strongly suggest you password lock your phone so this can't happen again.

Okay - I was looking for the same answers that nobody else seems to be getting either. Is there or is there not a way to tell whether or not your phone has been jailbroken? No - I did not do it. Yes - somebody else might have. Please do not respond with, "go plug it in and wipe out all your data." That is not what I asked. Again - just to be clear: Is there or is there not a way to tell whether or not my phone has been jailbroken? Obviously the jailbreak app could have been hidden. So - can anybody please respond with a direct answer to a direct question?

Hello,

Reagarding spyware, I have read many articles claiming that Viber app for iphone is a malware/spyware and a possible backdoor trojan. My iphone is not jailbreaked. I am very concerned with this issue, I have deleted the app as a precaution. I need to know whether this information is true and if so, why did apple allow it to be installed from the app store. Also, by deleting the app will the spyware be deleted as well? Moreover, are there any recommeded iphone anti-malware programs that an be purchased?

If your iPhone has not been jailbroken, it could still have spyware. Hate to tell you. There is a company kidsafe or something like that, designed to receive your children's texts..have them sent to your phone. But anyone can buy it and use it. All they need is your Apple ID username and password. The company sets it up from that info! And they can receive your private texts.
