facetime not signing in

I have had issues signing into facetime and messenger on my macbook air. I tried every fix I could find to no avail. Finally had it resolved by a tech at the Apple store.

Seems that if you have a logic board replaced the serial number of your computer needs to be assigned to the new board at the time of fitting. It my case this had not been done and resulted in facetime and messages not being available.

My facetime was just not connecting and so i decided to log out and log back in but then it wouldnt log back in altogether. So i changed my password I was able to login but i kept getting a message saying my e-mail address could not be verified or registration process error. So I tried this:

Go to: System Preferences

- Users and Groups

-( Myself, the admin)

-Apple ID (set it)

type in apple id and click the lock button so that changes cnt be made

I then checked my date/time : System Preferences

-Date/time (click on set automatically and make sure it is correct)

I then restarted my macbook pro and when i opened facetime to sign in and verify my email address it worked.

If you are using iOS 7, you may need to do a complete backup to a computer, reset the iPod to factory settings, then restore the idevice, my iPod Touch had that issue with iOS 7 until i reset it and restored it, if you restore it, all data will be placed back onto the idevice. Hope this helps.
