How to change iCloud email address?
I entered a test address when setting up iCloud, but now cannot find out how to change this to the email I would like with the @me.com ending. Any ideas?

Yes, from iphone go to setting -> icould at the bottom "delete account".
A different solution, that work for me is to create an other email @icloud, I seems to remember that apple allow you to create 3 different email alias(go to icloud.com -> mail -> right-top preference -> account ). Once done from iphone go to setting -> icloud -> account, under Advanced tap mail and then you can choose which address to use to sent email.
Hey I had my icloud and my primary email under the same name, example- Primary email: john@gmail.com, iCloud email: john@icloud.com but I changed my primary email to, example- sue@gmail.com.How do I get it to change from john@icloud.com to sue@icloud.com????? Is it possible?
I have this same problem. Where did the me.com account come from? It keeps asking for my password. I have no idea...since I didn't set this up. Can you help me remove this me.com account as the "alternate" email in iCloud?

Yes that is easy to do and no doubt has helped many people but there are many of us who do not want to change our Apple ID's. We only want to change the MAIL address attached to the iCloud account. I have not seen a solution in this thread that allows you to keep your Apple ID and change the email address attached to the iCloud account.
I followed the advice of Matt Curtis (page 1) and was able to change my email address without having to change my Apple ID. I was reluctant to click on delete account but I did it...worked like a charm and problem solved.
Hi Guys, really ned some help. when i try to update my appls I get a pop op box that shows Apple ID Password and under that is has an email address i no longer use sloker@mac.com. I have changed icloud and everything else with my new email address. I just cant seem to change that mac.com email, I have tried everything. Any help would be appreciated
I have tried and tried to do this because I have the name of my old husband on my email. But alas, Apple clearly states If you have a .mac or .me account, you cannot change it.
x.graves is right. it is impossible. I don't know why. Obviously, some major change would have to happen with their programming.
There are so many of us who would like to change it. I mean, we all were ten, fifteen years younger when we picked these names.
So, I will do what x.graves has suggested. Go to their feedback page and complain.
Correct, this DOES NOT resolve my problem. I get so much SPAM on @me.com that I stopped using it. However, I can't change it to @icloud.com because the site will not change anything. You can add alternate emails but your primary will not change. Any ideas? I tried everything.
Oh yeah, I did this along time ago on my iPhone and it works. However, here's my point of my madness. If you log into MyAppleID, your @me.com is static and you can't change it. If I install iCloud control panel on Windows to synchronize my iCloud email my Outlook, it forces you to syncronize all your info and email through @me.com. The bottomline, I get my emails from @icloud.com on my iphone but I have to setup a SPAM rule that any @me.com email goes to directly to JUNK folder.
Apple needs to fix this issue. They need to allow users to completely delete @me.com accounts from the face of the earth.
Although these are just "aliases", we need to be able to manage our aliases under MyAppID profiles.
Suggestions? How about asking Apple to decommission @me.com for good? I vote for that...

Amen, my brother, I don't know of any fix and I suspect there is no incentive for Apple to change things. I wonder if they are trying to create traffic for their SMTP servers to justify the horrific investment they have made in that NC datacenter? Who knows.
If you want to see the future, check out the Google I/O Keynote 2013. Pandora - good bye, Facebook - sayonara, there are a couple other Google initiatives I can't remember that are going to close the doors of some other vendors - but, do you know why? It's just like this type of foolishness we're going through with an issue that should be fixed and, quite frankly, never have arisen in the first place.
I get email responses from folks at my me.com account that I don't see for DAYS because I never check that account. (It's probably just filling up with SPAM anyhow.) Can't turn it off - how silly is that?
I have come to expect so little from companies these days that when any company shows even a slight bit of insight and concern for their customers, I am overwhelmed.
I think I found a solution. I first changed my email on apple I'd. Then I deleted the account in setting on my ipad. It then took me to a page which reset my apple I'd to the new one, and then I just reentered my password. Email reset.
I changed my apple ID but no luck on it prompting me to change my iCloud or letting me delete it. So I am pretty stuck. Everytime i try to delete the account on my iPhone it asks me for my password, since its the wrong email address it tells me its wrong.
I also tried Crazy_Ivans and no luck with having the option to make those changes.
I found a sort of solution, go to icloud.com, click on mail then click on preferences in the top right. Then if you go to account you can create an alias, which will not replace the iCloud email account you have created, but will create an alias that you can give ouy to people for your iCloud account. That way you can give out the alias, but the emails will come to the original iClous account
A HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped me solve this problem. I moved and no longer had access to the account i registered as my iCloud ID. Although it was scary, I followed the advice which said to delete the iCloud account, held my breath through the warning, and sure enough, the option to save the data on my iPad showed up. YAY! All is ell now on my iPad.
Now my problem is this....I left my phone in my pocket and did my laundry (i know, what an idiot!!). So I went to apple store and got a new phone and when unloaded phone, it asked me for my apple if. No biggie, put in my current apple id and password, and it started running me through my emails and such. Then last prompt was, restore from last icloud back up, which was 2 days ago. I prompted that, and it brought up my old email, which doesn't exist, and no longer a icloud account, and asked for that password. It won't let me change email address as its greyed out. Since it took my apple id and is restoring my settings, it won't let me delete icloud account. It states that the phone is being restored and icloud account cannot be deleted. I tried deleting all the apps that are downloading, but still says its being restored. My primary email on icloud account is the one I use for my apple ID, but keeps asking for old email address password. I've tried restoring and erasing content and starting up as a new phone, and then entering my apple id and password and then entering the apple id and password in icloud but it won't restore my apps and such. What now?
