Apple SSD SM128 Trim support?

The Trim Support introduced in 10.6.8 is designed for the MacBook Pro's introduced in 2011. Your update to 10.6.8 is working correctly. That being said you may want to keep your eye on Lion when it's released. Unfortunately per the Terms of Use of this forum we can't discuss future products other than what Apple has already released.

I have a 2010 MacBook Air with APPLE SSD SM128 and there is NO TRIM support after installing 10.6.8....

My wife's 2009 MacBook Air with Apple 64GB SSD is also not supported.....so " TRIM support for all Apple SSD's" is simply no true.

Yes I did, but the Apple release notes say that "all apple SSD's are supported" which is not true.

I hope Lion will provide full TRIM support for all MacBook Airs with SSD.

Oddly my 2010 MacBook Airs Apple SSD TS064C states TRIM Support as being Yes, so it looks like the feature works for some MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros, but apparently not all.

Read the thread "Trim Support in Mac SSD". It is important to know whether your TS064C supports Trim or not; if yes, use Trim Enabler and follow http://lifehacker.com/5803331/how-to-enable-trim-on-your-macs-solid+state-drive. Good Luck.

I wasn't asking if it did, I was reporting that it did support it and it was enabled by default in Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I too have a Late 2009 Macbook Air with the APPLE SSD SM128 installed. I'm running 10.6.8 and was disappointed to find that TRIM support was not enabled for my SSD drive. Hopefully Lion will provide for TRIM support.

I also think the reporting should be clear on which models/versions of SSD drives actually are supported under 10.6.8. This would save confusion and, in my case, frustration.

don't fret: if you have older equipment, just check if the SSD you have is capable of Trim (see the specs of the disk) if not, trim support by the OS does not do anything, if yes you can activate it.

I read that this SSD has trim support inside, meaning that perhaps you should enable trim support in OS.

But since you have used the disk already a certain time, I suggest that you "clean" the free space according to the recommendations on the lifehacker page (be sure to enter the Terminal commands exactly as written there).

My MA+BA 2010 13 inch 256 SSD now has TRIM support after the 10.6.8 update - I don't recall it being present before this update - good to know.
