In Itunes, scroll down in the apps section and highlight AVPlayer HD. Move any of your movies into the 'Documents' space and let the synching complete... and Lo! You can see all the movies you just transferred 🙂 hope this helps!

Ooops.. first you must purchase AV Player HD works fine with most of the formats 🙂 then follow the above process

Hello, sorry to reopen the discussion. Yesterday I downloaded AVplayer HD, and, either it's useless or I can't figure out how to use it. Apart from being chained to my macbook, aparently I have to transfer the documents one by one through the wi-fi option. That is, write an addess in my macbook's web browser and then transfer the filesone by one. Or, I need to connect ipad2 to macbook and via itunes I transfer all the videos I'm going to watch. Once I tranfer the files into the "documents" space, does this take up ipad's space memory? I've only got a 16GB ipad. Or it goes into some kind of AVplayer HD server? Oh, and something else, the sound doesn't martch with the image, it has like a delay. I don't really like this app, but since I've already purchased it and there are no refunds, well, I'll give it a try. 😟

Again - Apologies for re-opening this discussion but I am having problems with my AVPlayer HD all of a sudden.

I have never had a problem with transferring avi's and mov's to the player through iTunes, but now if I go into my iTunes, and I click on Apps Tab and choose AVPlayer HD from the list, I do not see the files that are sat in the iPad anymore.....

What I am trying to say is that I don't have any way of managing the content on the iPad through iTunes anymore.... Has anyone else come across this?

LOL, admit it the thing ***** ***... not everybody buys an IPAD to play silly games and watch goofy movies.. Overall the software should work like drag and drop…. And you know it. Having to purchase a 3rd party software isn’t a professional way to do business. Would you buy a new car, just to have to buy tires for it? Think about it…oh yea… your loving it !!!! Case close buddy….get a clue!!!!! Domo....case close.....

Because AVI is a container format, not a video codec.

Apple devices do not support AVI playback, nor does iTunes.

The only widespread source of AVIs is bit torrents of stolen media(most have switched to mpeg4).

Apple isn't going to help you steal content.

Not neccessarily. I use avi's to distribute my own short films and adverts. And I use AV Player HD to be able to share them with clients through iTunes. Avi is a good format for people to receive my films because I am pretty guaranteed that their PC will play the video. So before you paint me with the same brush I would like to proclaim my innocence here.
