I found that the number of Facebook albums in my home computer iPhoto program were becoming cumbersome, so I began deleting them off my computer. About halfway through, I realized that I was also deleting them off my Facebook photos. Could you explain why I have to have the album in my home computer for the album on Facebook to be visibie? And how to delete the album off my home computer and leave them on Facebook? I'm on 10.5.8, iPhoto 8.1.2 (424).
A couple of things
1 - I did not say not to use iPhoto for Facebook - I said you need to understand how it works and if that is not what you want then do not use it - I use it and like it
2 - you also need to understand iPhoto in general - events are where photos are and if you delete and photo form an event and empty the iPhoto trash it is gone - everywhere - gone -- if you delete a photo from an album is is gone from that album but still in the event
a good starting point is to watch the iPhoto videos - iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto videos
also the older videos are good just not totally up to date an the new command structure - the concepts are the same, only the details have changed - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration.

LN, sorry if I misspoke that you suggested to not use iPhoto for Facebook, what I meant is that in his case, he does not like the way iPhoto functions for his particular set up so it would not make sense for him to use it for the functions that he wants which is to log in to facebook, upload, but not have any photo albums/photos in iPhoto from Facebook at all, or ever.
I also use iPhoto for Facebook and also use Courier to upload to Facebook for photos I do not keep in iPhoto.
Just to be clear - thousands of people read these and would not want them to get the wrong idea
