Mobile processor and chipset?

Just curious. Is the new iMac based on a mobile processor and chipset? I think I read somewhere it's based on Intel's 945 chipset. Will this impact the performance compared to other brand's Intel-based desktops?

Yes, it is based on the Yonah chip. Performance is very good - in fact comparisons with the iMac G5 show it to be ~2 times as fast, which is very promising.

The processors in the iMac are indeed different to those in the MacBookPro.

The iMac processors use more power, whereas the MacBook ones are lower voltage (I think).
