Does anyone know how to get a two-up display happening, so I can trim seeing both sides of the cut using the arrow or trim keys? I only get a two-up when I'm dragging with the mouse - I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.

No two-up with the trim keys. Just like the FCP7 timeline. It's not the trim edit window.
When you use the Trim tool (T), while you're dragging, you'll see the two up in the Viewer, just like FCP 7. No trim edit window, which I loved. Submit feedback!
We also lost the ability to see the timecode on each side of the edit that used to be in the two-up display.
While I'm at it, we also don't have any way to identify through-edits, or join them.

Yes, I know...but I can still vent a little among friends, can't I? 😉
I've found that if you zoom in all the way, then enter precision editor, hold cmd you can skim frame by frame with the two up...still wish keyboard shortcuts are available. Also I didn't see the cmd tip anywhere in the manual..hope that helps any editors out there learning this tool.
