macbook pro (model number a1226) no power

I have a Macbook Pro (model number A1226) - the computer has been working perfectly. However, I let the battery drain and since then, the laptop will not power up. I have tried everything:

  • Using two different power cords
  • Plugging the power cord(s) into different outlets - even in different rooms
  • Pressing CTRL + Command + Power
  • Pressing Option + Command + Power
  • Taking out the battery, unplugging the mag power cord, pressing the Power Button for 10 seconds... plugging back in mag power cord... trying to start it.

Nothing on all of the above. Someone please help. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the computer and it has not moved an inch since the power went out!

I appreciate it.

Stephanie.

There has been no storms here. So we're safe there.

Something new has happened though - the power indicator has now changed to amber and the battery pack that you can remove is now flashing green (there are 5 indicator lights on the battery and the first one is now flashing).

Is that a good sign?

That is a very good sign. It means the battery is charging, and I suspect at this point you should be able to boot the MBP (leave it plugged in until the amber turns green).
