Why won't my Rosetta Stone open?

Sorry, i was conflating Rosetta and Rosetta Stone. However i also read information that Rosetta Stone isn't supported by Mountain Lion either. But here is a thread that has a lot of information about this and some solutions. i am not needing Rosetta Stone, i just need Rosetta.

I was able to load Version 4 of Rosetta Stone on my iMac. That CD is level 3 of the Portuguese course. Unfortunately, Tech support said Version 2 (which is my old RS Level 1 and 2) is no longer supported on any device........I'd probably need to go out and find an old XP or Vista PC. RS is up to Version 4 now. They do offer an upgrade for my level 1 and 2.......Calling back to day to see at what "price".......

BTW....what's the difference between Rosetta and Rosetta Stone?

Rosetta Stone is the language program

Rosetta is a program that allows PowerPC programs to be supported by operating systems on Intel macs

My MacBook with Snow Leopard can run power PC programs

My MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion cannot.

An example is Eudora Mail

Open Console in Applications>Utilities, watch for messages when you try to launch/open it, or check the system or crash logs.

It's a bit beyond me also, but now having done these things, does it have an uninstaller you could run then install again?

Try this:

1) Open up System Preferences

2) Click Energy Saver Options

3) Uncheck the box for "Automatic graphics switching"

This worked for me. My Rosetta Stone is back up and running.

I had the same issue. I went to the Adobe site and redownloaded flash player and AIR. Once I redownloaded them and installed them, Rosetta Stone worked again! Hope this helps!

I am not inclined to install my apps into my system. They are asking us to find it in the system library.

Click file then command+I, check "open using rossetta".

I think you're looking in the wrong Library.

In Finder's Menu, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to...

/library/application support/rosetta stone/

Is it there in the main Library?

Despite the fact this thread is old it helped me, the key was adobe air, after installing the right version It worked. I´m running Rosetta Stone v3.4.5 on my old Leopard PPC. Thank you
