Why won't my Rosetta Stone open?

I just bought Rosetta Stone TOTALe. I have a Mac with OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a), which should support the program. However, after installing the disc the program will not open. When I click on it bounces once and then closes. I tried deleting my cache but that didn't help. Can anyone help me out?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Helllo, try this & get back to us if it works or does not...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

Thank you Jeremymsu!

I had the same problem with Rosetta Stone Totale. I'd click the icon, it would bounce once and then not load. So I redownloaded both Flash and Air and it launched.

BUT, once it launched I received "Fatal Application Error: #2124" and the program would crash. Here's a link to the Rosetta Stone support page with the fix. I followed the directions and now have the program running like a champ.

Hello all

I spend 3 hrs with tech support at Rosetta and still not able to resolve. Support video on Rosetta Stone ask to change name of tracking.db3 file in library/application support/rosetta stone.... I can't find this file in my library folder. I have since uninstalled application. I am also running 10.7.3 Vincent. Did you find the rosetta stone folder in your library folder?

JP - Yes, I did find the the Rosetta Stone folder. Here was the path for me:

Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Rosetta Stone > TOTALe > tracking.db3

I would reinstalling RST and before launching for the first time, go straight to the tracking file and rename it. IF RS automatically lanuches after install, just ⌘+Q, and then go find the file and rename it.

Hope this helps.
