LAN-Tunes?

I am thinking about getting an AE not to for its AirPort capabilities, but to stream audio from my Mac to my receiver. I have a Billion 4-port router/ADSL modem with a Mac and WinPC connected via ethernet cables (both using iTunes and sharing music libraries). Can I plug the AE into my router and then send audio to my receiver from either computer considering neither have any wireless capabilities?
Logic says yes, but I read on another forum that you cant (the guy did not sound like he knew what he was talking about, either did yours answering).
Can anyone help me on this?
Cheers.

Yes, you can do that. However, I believe that configuring the AX over Ethernet requires using Airport Admin Utility instead of Airport Setup Assistant. What you'll want to do once you get to the Airport Admin Utility configuration panel is to turn off wireless in the Airport tab (assuming that you don't want any wireless access; if you later obtain some wireless devices, you could enable wireless on the Express and use it as a wireless access point for your wired network) and disable "Distribute IP addresses" in the Network tab. At that point, the Express will be just another peer on your Ethernet network.
