Jailbreak Detection: what does Apple recommend?

We need to be able to determine if the iPad which our software is running on has been jailbroken. It has been determined to be a security risk for our software to be able to be run on a jailbroken device. Does Apple recommend a method for programmatic detection? I know there used to be an API, which was removed. Thanks.

Sorry, maybe I was not clear enough in my initial post. We develop an enterprise application which is downloaded from the App Store by our customers. We need to ensure that we don't run of jailbroken devices because of the security risk. How does Apple recommend (or do they?) that we perform such detection, bearing in mind that some detection techniques may cause our application to fail App Store approval - for example trying to access the file system outside of our sandbox.

I don't believe that Apple has published any recent information about jailbreak detection, not since that API was removed. My guess is that they don't want to provide the jailbreak developers with clues on how to work around the detection. If as it seems you're developing software, you might try contacting Apple developer support and ask if they have any advice on the issue.

Regards.
