Connections issues with Sony DCR-PC105E

Does iMovie work with a Sony DCR-PC105E, iMovie doesn't seem to register the camera as attached via firewire therefore I am unable to import my DV tapes. Can anyone help?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It should work.

Hi emgee:

Just to add a bit to Lennart's post-if your camera can control the camera but not see the video,
*Open Garageband
*Play a note or two
*Close Garageband
*Open iMovie
The camera will work now-seriously.
