How do I use Restore in Disc Utility
I recently changed my internal hard drive as I was getting the Blue Screen of Death and since I got my new one I realised I can use Disk Utility to restore all the files on the old drive onto an external HD.
I simply thought I select old HD as the source and then the formatted external HD as the destination and click restore. When I do this it brings up the error "Restore Failed, Could not Restore, Input/Output Error." I tried it then with "erase destination" ticked but that just brings up the same error and unmounts the externalHD and made me reformat it. I have been using Mac for 5 years now so I believe I am pretty familiar with them but this has me lost.
I have searched for similar issues and came up with nothing, hence new discussion started. Would anybody have any experience with this or any tips on how to get this working please.
