Windows xp 32Bit drivers for IMac 27inch Thunderbolt 3.4GHz Quad-Core i7

Hi,

I just purchased a custom made Apple IMac 27inch with 3.4GHz i7 QuadCore (ThunderBolt) with graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1GB GDDR5

I need some applications made by my company to work on windows platform and for some reason they are currently not supported on windows vista nor 7.

I have installed windows xp professional 32bit on my imac for those application but when i installed xp it said bootcamp (used cd which came with imac) is only supported with windows 7.

I browsed the cd manually and was able to install the following drivers in windows xp sucessfully:-

FaceTime webcam (got installed from cd which came with my imac 27 inch)

Bluetooth (got installed from cd which came with my imac 27 inch)

Wireless Keyboard (got installed from cd of friends core 2 duo imac 21 inch)

Wireless Mouse (got installed from cd of friends core 2 duo imac 21 inch)

Brightness Controller (got installed from cd of friends core 2 duo imac 21 inch)

USB Ports (got installed from cd which came with my imac 27 inch)

FOLLOWING FAILED:-

Audio Device

Ethernet Controller

Network Controller (Wifi i suppose)

Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

I know apple wont want to provide me xp drivers if they say to install windows 7 but can someone help me in providing me only drivers which can be compatible with my system since i dont want to use windows 7 due to compatibility issues with my organisations softwares.

A couple of things, first there is a Boot Camp forum so if you want support I'd think that would be the best venue.

As you have discovered Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 on the current machines so you are in a box if you must run on Boot Camp. However instead of using Boot Camp you can use virtualization software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion which perform very well. The are many advantages of virtualization one primary one is you can still run XP. Others include being able to run MS Windows within OS X so you can use both OS's simultaneously. The only downside to virtualization is if you run graphics intensive apps (3D Game, CAD/CAM, 3D rendering) then performance will not be as good as with Boot Camp. However for almost all other apps performance is really good and most cases users don't complain.

While it will cost a few dollars (I believe about $79) virtualization is a very solid alternative.
