Facetime Server Encountered Error

Hello,

Just upgraded my SL to Lion and I am experiencing 2 problems.

1. FaceTime: "Server Encountered An Error Processing Registration. Please Try Again Later."

2. Screensaver Starts in the middle of the work. Tried deleting SystemPreferences.

The Problem #2 started to happen after I upgraded to 10.6.8. I have even discussed this earlier in this forum but that doesn't resolved this issue. I thought maybe an upgrade to Lion will fix this problem but it doesn't.

My FaceTime has been working. I was running the FT beta before the upgrade. The upgrade also upgraded the FT program. I have an old .mac Apple ID.

I have upgraded to LION on my macbook pro and my iMac at work at the same time.

Facetime had been working flawlessly with both machine before the upgrade so no server, DNS, firewall problems as other users have (hence they have to change to public DNS in order for it to work)

Anyway, macbook pro after the upgrade, works fine with Facetime

The iMac (same network, same almost every thing as I use it personally all the time, no one else touches it) can't connect to Facetime at all and the server encountered error keeps coming up all the time

One thign i have noticed in order for external webcam to work, you have to unplug and plug it back to the usb after you got the facetime called. Then it works

I had also the Beta before and it works fine on Mac Book late 2009.

I use an GMX adress, and now after Lion Upgrade it wont work anymore.

I've upgraded 4 people to Lion.

2 x FaceTime working - @gmail, 2011 MBP & 2008 MBP, 1 had FaceTime previously, the other didn't.

2 x FaceTime not working - @gmail, 2010 MBA, 2009 iMac, both had FaceTime previously.

The FaceTime problem is very strange. It seems to occur randomly. What does the Apple support say? There must be a solution to it.

Apple should be aware of it as this issue is known since the GM was issued two weeks ago. Unil yesterday the support referred to the developer forum but this can't be an argument any more.

Dont upgrade from SL. Just backup with Time Machine and DO a clean install of Lion. Everything is gonna to be fine.

Yesterday I had the same problem and this morning I installed a clean Lion. Now I can use my Facetime.

This isn't a proper solution for most of us. Apple must provide a solution as they want(ed) us to easily update to lion.
