anyone else having major problems with Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard?

is anyone else having major problems with Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard?

- address bar and search box are not resizing with browser window. the address bar and seach box set their size to the window when Safari is launched and remain that size.

- anytime i try to customize toolbar items disappear and i have to restart Safari to get them to appear.

- some 3rd party icons just remove themselves from the toolbar after a period of time

- when i drag a page from the tab bar to create it's own browser window the window disappears but is listed in the windows menu bar. when i select that window from the menu bar the window appears but i can't click on anything.

I've repaired permissions numerous times, reinstalled safari numerous times and restarted my machine numerous times and the issues all remain. i've never had any issues with Safari until now and 5.1 is looking like a huge mess.

besides the bugs above, has anyone had any luck with 1password working with Safari 5.1?

Yes - definite bugs in Safari 5.1. I already posted about a graphics glitch - I put up a video and sent Apple a report. Other little quirks make me just want to roll Safari back a version. 1P does work - but doesn't seem to work quite as well. For instance - I keep getting bounced from forums I'm active in - Safari doesn't keep me signed in - can't tell if that's Safari or 1P. The right click menu is gone from 1P. Aesthetically - 1P is improved. Safari doesn't seem to handle flash as well as it did previously - and click-to-flash has been a bit quirky. Scrolling in safari is not smooth right now. All in all - it's a clunky upgrade - and so far no performance improvements that I've been able to observe. In fact, Safari now ties up significantly more memory than it did previously.

That's very interesting. Thanks. I'd love to hear some feedback from them on the graphics glitch with 2011 Hardware under Snow Leopard. Right now - I'm actually using FF and Chrome for things in place of Safari. I have a machine with 16 GB of RAM and the clunky scrolling on certain pages has forced me to use a different browser. I guess I could call Apple - but figured noone would really understand what I was trying to describe unless they viewed the video I posted. Here's a link if anyone's interested. http://s1088.photobucket.com/albums/i340/BrianLachoreVPI/?action=view&current=Sc reenRecording.mp4

the right click won't be back. apple is no longer allowing developers make plugin's for safari, instead they have to make extensions. 1P relied on a plugin for the right click option, you now have to click on the 1P button in the toolbar - aesthetically, i agree... it's much nicer. this is the problem that tastyapp was having. they had made safari plugins to work with their apps and those plugins caused safari to crash and were pretty much solely responsible for all the problems i experienced with 5.1 in the first post.

It's not only about constantly hitting the enter button to allow permission for Safari to connect.

Today my Mac Book Pro, crushed for the first time, since 2006, when I got it. And not only that, it crushed 7 times!

When using Safari, it was becoming unresponsive. Mouse, keyboard were not working, so I had to use power button to shut it down.

I have no other add ons than ad-block and click to flash, so I don't think it's where the problem is.

p.s.

Even when I was writing this post, Safari crashed, crushing my Mac (or may be it's all the way around). I had couple of unsuccessful attempts to start up.

Here's the screenshot of my frozen and pre-unresponsive Mac:

12 crashes today after 5 years of smooth work.

Well... there are clearly some major bugs in the last update.
