Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Air Drop isn't showing up.

Today I upgraded to Lion. At first, everything seemed to be fine. Then I noticed I didn't have Air Drop in my Finder window. I then upgraded my Macbook Pro to Lion and it does hav Air Drop. I've looked online and this was a common bug when developers were testing Lion.

Does anyone know if Apple is aware of the problem and is planning on fixing it? If they aren't then it looks like I'm going to have to do a clean install.

FYI - It also DOES NOT support most of the new multi-touch gestures for the trackpad. 😟

Hi Everyone,

I found this article about using terminal to enable AirDrop on mac's which are "unsupported". ^_^

I've just enabled it, and my iMac 7,1 now shows AirDrop in Finder, but I haven't yet tested it all.

Thought i'd post it here for everyone in case you guys hadn't seen it.

NOTICE:

To do this you need use Terminal, Keep in mind that anything you do on terminal could mess up your system, so proceed with caution.

Launch terminal (you can do that by using spotlight and type terminal OR you can find it under /Application/Utilities) and type:

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

After that you need to relaunch finder. You can either force quit the Finder and relaunch Finder or type the following:

killall Finder && open /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app

I successful enabled AirDrop on my old early 2008 Macbook.

Air Drop isn't showing up.
