iTunes 10.4 & Multimedia Keyboard

Since I installed iTunes 10.4 for Windows (Windows 7, x64), I can no longer use my Multimedia Keys for Play/Pause and so on.

I have a Logitech Illuminated and tried all the usual tricks like mmkeys.dll, but nothing worked.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

PC, Windows 7

Hey guys,

I found a fix to this issue, this one worked for me, not too sure if it will for others but anyway...

To use this plugin, simply copy the mmKeys.dll file into your plugins folder.

For XP Users: “C:\Program Files\iTunes\Plug-ins”

Vista/Win7 Users: “C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins”

(In both cases, if the folder doesn't exist you will have to create this folder.)

I can't use the keys on my Microsoft keyboard either. I tried adding the mmkeys to my C:/Program Files/iTunes/plug-ins folder as one person indicated, but that wouldn't work for me. the HK Tunes works okay and thank you so much for the advice, but I'm hoping apple fixes this soon. None of my coworkers are tech-savvy enough to deal with this, so I'll be going around downloading the program to all the other computers. What a pain!

lol yea same problem, razor lycrosa here.... but hktunes and that mmkeys dont work either... hk tunes does let me change it to other buttons though just not my buttons lololol...so pointless. i wonder why it randomly died... i wonder if i can just manually delete the update by erasing random itunes system files lolol. 8D an no u cannot downgrade your itunes for some strange *** reason whenever i go back to using old itunes it just says your library has been made by a newer ver. of itunes. there fore cannot be opened... wait wait... idiot me if i just delete the library from my music folder it won't know what to to look for.... SOOOOO ill brb.

**** im good. k fixed it for realzies. no using crappy backdoor products. heres a step by step fix.

first back up your library and you playlists if you do not know how to do this. make a playlist with all of your music in it. then right click that playlist, click export. export it into .XLM format.

2. go to your control panle and get rid of itunes. (complete uninstall)

*edit* cause im dumb...delete your itunes folder from your music library. should be right in your music subfolder if your using windows 7 or vista.

3. go here and download the 10.3.1 ver. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103 (don't worry its actually on itunes)

4. install said program (it may ask to install newest ver. you know the answer to that lolol)

5. import your XLM playlist. if you dunno how to do this i shall show u now. go to the top of your screen where it says file. then go to the sub folder library, and then there will be another sub folder called import playlist.

now don't go downloading itunes 4 again. its crap. no difference anyways...

*side note*

there all your playlists are back and your key board works again. if your like me and have like 20 gigs in music the importing of playlists may take some time lolol.
