Wifi Constantly Dropping in Lion

Since upgrading my Fall 2009 21.5" iMac to Lion my wifi connection will drop out about every minute and the I have to turn Wifi off and then back on to get it to connect again. Is there any known way to fix this? Any suggestions will be appreciated

Thanks

I'm also getting WiFi drops on my new iMac running 10.7.1 - especially after waking from sleep. My situation appears to be the same os that of Shaunmull (above) in that the Mac is staying connected to the router, but the connection appears as if the ISP has failed, so no apps can access the net. The problem resolves itself after experimental proddings such as mentioned above.

However an interesting point is that I have a MacBook Pro also running Lion 10.7.1 which has never had this problem; it's only apparent on the new iMac.

Gregory,

Who's USB WiFi adapter are you using and which driver is installed?

I am wondering if this is a driver issue or an Apple WiFi hardware implementation issue.

I have a Late 2011 mini and have not seen the issue at all with either 10.7 or 10.7.1.

It seems that we have verified that people with and without the issue are using the same WiFi chip so a chip design flaw seems unlikely.

I have a Mid-2007 Macbook w/ 10.7.1 installed. Did a full clean install of snow leopard then upgraded to lion through the app store (not a clean install for lion) I have installed Lion twice and I am still having wifi drop outs. It is definiatly a software issue.

I've had this problem as well, on my 27 iMac with lion preinstalled. Was on the phone yesterday with apple care (3 different calls) for about two hours, we did the whole gambit of trouble shooting solutions, PRAM reset, deleted System configs, changed DNS, cycle router and modem all with no effect. So, I think were going to have to wait for a software update. I've resorted to using the ethernet port hardline with no problems for the last 24 hours or so.
