Perian from http://perian.org/
You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs, currently : FFusion, Xvid Delegate, 3ivX, DivX, DivX Decoder, XviD, msmpeg4v1, msmpeg4v2, AviImporter, EX_M4S2, Casio AVI Importer, AC3 Codec, and MatroskaQT. You should also delete any DivX extension to Safari. However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/en/software/mac/player
Uninstalled Dvix from mac, didn't help than went to folder: Hard Drive>Library>Quicktime and manualy removed Divx and Xvid plugins. That fixed the problem.
QuickTime 7.6.6 can be installed.
That solved the problem for me as well!
Yes. That worked for me, too. I had the same problem of no video, and trashing that from the QT folder did the trick. Nice solve!
Thank you so much! Very helpful.
I don't get it. I am getting frustrated. I had DIVX, uninstalled it and I am still having this problem. Went to the QT folder and it is not in there...what is the problem?
Thank you! I couldnt find any DIVX installations however the XVID plugin in the Hard Drive>Library>Quicktime folder was the culprit.
Scratch that... my AVI now have picture but some are missing audio.
I have tested them in other players (VLC etc) but Quicktime is still my player of choice. Any other suggestions on how to get around the flaws of AVI files?
I have a .mov file of 2.15 GB produced on Final Cut Express on a Mac.
Quicktime 10.1 stops playing this file after 2 mins but audio continues.
VLC will not play it saying "no suitable decoder module
VLC does not support this audio or video format "icod" and there is no way to fix this". Plays audio files.
Vimeo will only deal with files up to 500 mb.
Any suggestions?
