Does anyone recommend OS X Lion?

I've seen many comments about people having different problems and trouble with the new OS X Lion, does anyone recommend me to download it? My current OS is Mac OS X 10.6.7.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Well i give you for an example this discussion:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3194165?start=0&tstart=0 These are all NEW iMac users who unfortunately purchased iMacs and were convinced that Lion was a reliable OS. As you can see by reading through the posts in the discussion there are a MYRIAD of problems.

What??? Do you individually know all the posters in that forum? That they are all new to Mac? They are new to Lion! And it is a highly stable OS. Coming here for an opinion is like going to a hospital to do a survey on the health status of everyone in the world. It is a trouble shooting forum. Apple was downloaded ONE MILLION TIMES in the first 24 hours that it was released and who knows how many million times more since. If this forum was truely representative of the general Mac population, it would be impossible to find a place to post.

Get real and look at the very very small amount of users having problems. And those like yourself who would replace the motherboard because you didn't like the OS on the iMac you purchased?????????

Anyhow must get back to my perfectly running 2007 3GB Macbook Pro running Lion fast and faultlessly and leave you to figure out what you have done to your system to cause your issues.

Yawn...........

I see a lot of complaining. if peple were serious about getting help, they would start a new thread and describe their problem. I refuse to help any one that is just trying to keep a thread going, and that is what a lot of people it seems to be doing... for what? start your own thread and hopefully some will be able to help you.

Well said Carlo, but some egos here refuse to do that as they have no specific issue, they just want to demean Apple and most wish they would go and rejoin Windows. They have nothing constructive to add and no single issue to start a thread about. Just general whinging because they are sad sad people. But I hear what you say and agree. Why keep someone else's 'ANSWERED' thread going to post their whingings in.

It may be true that it has been downloaded and installed 1m times. There are new iMacs with redundant problems that remain unresolved by Apple. As a matter of fact I wnt personally to the Apple Store in my vicinity and tested an iMac with Lion pre installed and AFTER sleep it evinced the same problems as those in the forum I previously referred to.The exhibition of the same problems over and over by the posters in this forum after updating flash, having their systems replaced and/or repaired by Apple, being without their Macs, going through the inconviences attendant is evidence of neglect by Apple and an inferior solution to their problems.Everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you are convinced that you are right then there is no point arguing with you. There is a sign on the Hudson County Courthouse in Jersey City,New Jersey that says: "If you stand well stand fast"

I see you buy a NEW Mac and you want to go to Snow Leopard and you replace the motherboard under the Warranty program. If life were as simple as that then you may as well go down the wrong way on Chestnut Street in Philly. Who knows how good the tech will be. Who really wants the aggravation of the repair and the inconvenience it brings? I personally wouldn't want it.

Quite clearly, there are some individuals that should not be entrusted with the purchase of electronics.

Let me explain again so that you can grasp this. You buy a new Mac with Lion installed by the factory in China. You want to install Snow Leopard. You must take the Mac pack it up and send it to Apple. You are without the Mac. NO MAC!!! You have the inconvenience of not having it.You have to travel to the Apple store or ship it out. You have to worry about whether or not the Motherboard that is installed is going to be all right. You may have to bring it back to the Apple Store or ship it out again. All this for $2100???? Do you get it?

But I have no inconvenience and only had to spend about 30 bucks on the best OS I have ever had. You still haven't told us the problem you have with your experience of installing Lion, just ranted about motherboards and Snow Leopard and hating Apple and ????????? You have confused me, I'm sorry, but I really don't understand your problem. There is always Windows for folks like yourself if Apple is going ahead too quickly for you.

Cheers

Because Lion is monochromatic in appearance, doesn't work properly in my iMac from waking from sleep, does FREEZE after waking from sleep after taking the suggestion to update Flash,(this was also done as an exhibit by me in the Apple Store with NO explanation by the Tech)Colorless ugly in appearance,iCal with its faux leather,I could go on and on. Snow Leopard is the greatest OS that Apple ever developed.
