NTFS drive does not mount under Lion.

MrJeypi try installing this modded version of MacFUSE first: http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg and then try again, that should fix your problem.

I downloaded that macfuse dmg and installed everything, but isn't working.

I get this message again

Maybe I'm doing this wrong

First I type

sudo mkdir /Volumes/usb1

And then, I type

sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/disk1s1 /Volumes/usb1

Is that correct?

Try deleting /System/Library/filesystems/ufsd.fs and install your Paragon/MAfuse/Tuxera implementation

Ok, it's working now. I just had to restart and everything's fine now.

I can read and write onto my external HDD.

One's thing weird though. After I typed the codes, and everything seemed to fine, the same message popped out again. However, everything's working fine.

While I'm writing this comment, I'm copying a dmg onto the HDD. It's a bit annoying to do this process every single time, but, I guess that's better than nothing 🙂

OMG!!!! nik pel you are my hero!!! It really works!!!

1. Uninstall every NTFS Driver (Paragon, Tuxera, NTFS-3G etc.)

2. Restart computer

3. Delete /System/Library/filesystems/ufsd.fs (backup just to be safe)

4. Install any NTFS Driver, I used Paragon NTFS for Mac 9.01

5. Restart and enjoy!!!

But, we still have to mount the HDD on the terminal?

You dont need to do anything after that, every new NTFS disk will work automatically

It works, this issuse was because the Paragon that im using is not supported by Lion... i just delete the ufsd.fs and i connect my USB HDD and automatic mounts my drive .... 😀😀 thanks nik pel... now i have to find a wich 3rd software for writing.. Thanks.

Im using Paragon NTFS for Mac 9.0.1 and it works (read and write), the only problem I have is I dont know how to reindex my external disk in spotlight, I try some terminal commands but its not working

Yeah, I agree.

Spotlight isn't searching on the external drive... However, it's great to finally have access to the drive without typing codes on the terminal.

Did anyone try NTFS Mounter? It works on Snow and uses the native OSX NTFS, just gives a GUI frontend.

I found another problem, you cant share the external NTFS disk on the network! =(

I mean you can share it from Lion but you cant access the share, this is a big big problem for me cause I use my computer and my external disk to share media to XBMC on my Apple TV so now Im stuck.
