Set Web Inspector to open attached to current window (Safari 5.1)

An easy solution to this problem is to download Webkit and use it instead. http://nightly.webkit.org/

I can confirm that the latest nightly: Version 5.1 (7534.48.3, r91478) does not fix this problem, unless we're talking about another webkit nightly.

Glad they´re working on it, this petty thing turned out to be such a nightmare.

I've been using the WebKit nightlies, and the automatic docking is back and works great. However, the Web Inspector takes up 80% of the window, and I always have to resize it. I hope they fix that too.

This is really annoying and since Safari is the only consistent browser with accelerated graphics which work correctly... I kinda need it.

When is apple going to address this??

As it's been mentioned in this posting, if you're a dev, and you need to see this fixed, grab the latest webkit nightly. its not perfect, but it gets you halfway there (the size of the inpsector is just a little on the large side).

I just tested it and it's almost as much annoying since the shortcut "cmd+opt+i" doesn't toggle. It opens the console, but doesn't close it. -_- Triple fail for Apple.

Apple Genius do something here please! I hate this bug and I hate using Chrome.

I'm using Webkit now and it works fine 🙂
