Safari in Lion not displaying site's header copy...

After trying just about all the suggestions except the editing a file one, I have fixed it for my Mac.

There were two things wrong, firstly in Fusion 3 I had the option to activate fonts automatically for Safari. Turning that off solved most scrabble tiles.

Then I noticed that FontBook had no listing for Arial even though it was resident in the System/Fonts folder. I used the facility in FB to access Arial from the Fonts folder and add to FB.

Problem solved, no more scrabble tiles.

My "fix" for this issue was simply going into FontExplorer X and removing all sets of Helvetica Neue fonts entirely. I am in the graphics field, so this is a temporary fix (at best). Luckily, I am not currently using my home computer for graphics-related work at the moment.

I am in the same boat. Web & graphic design 24/7. I use Suitcase Fusion 2. I saw where one person turned off Suitcase but didn't say what he is using now. I am fulltime Firefox right now, too, but wanted to note that when I am viewing sites while building on Safari, I don't have this problem. Usually I am using MAMP when I do this. Please drop a note if you find a solve, as I will, as well. Who knows, maybe it's just around the corner.

I have the same issues with FontExplorer Pro X 2.5.2

So far, as i can see, I have only trouble with fonts, that are loaded through fonts.googleapis.com, as you see here:

Unless you have duplicates of those two fonts, I would say that must be because those fonts were not built correctly from the ground up, as ligitimate fonts are.

Someone in Apple Forums had found the solution!

1- Open FontBook (it doesn't matter if you use another font manager, just open it)

2- Select "All Fonts" and you will find that some fonts has exclamation marks on them

3- click one by one this fonts and you will find at the lower pane a text that says this fonts are in conflict

4- click on "Resolve Automatically" button

5- Do this on avery font that has Exclamation marks

6- Close FontBook and go to Macintosh HD/Library/Caches

7- Select all items and move them to trash

8- restart your mac and voilà! no more sandbox text on safari!

Thanks to everyone for posting things to try, I've tried all of them, but nothing has worked so far.

I think this is an issue that Apple really needs to address on their side of it - it seems to be happening to a lot of people under various circumstances and in all cases it seems to be Safari that's that having the problem.

Fonts in other browsers and apps are working fine for the most part.

Your fix has worked perfectly, so far.

I use FontExplorer X Pro 2.5.2 and simply deactivated all fonts except /system/library/fonts and did some basic cleaning.

So far I've reactivated what seems to be all the fonts I use regularly and we're all good.
