AGAdminService / Citrix is running 100% cpu, but I never installed it!

I ran top -o cpu and I see:

646- AGAdminServi 100.1 05:44.39 7/1 1 76 N/A N/A N/A N/A

I tracked this down to be Citrix.. but.. I umm.. don't have citrix/didn't install it

this was never a problem until I installed Lion

Anyone know how to literally just tear this out of my system(wherever it is hiding)?

I read other posts about /Library/Application Support/Citrix.. but I dont have that folder etc

I basically can't use my MBP anymore due to this

Thanks´s a lot !

since updating my MBook 13" Mid 2009 first to Lion and later on to Mountain Lion i used it for computing AND heating my coffee. Battery time was getting smaller and smaller, and i didnt know why my MBook served as a heating device (thought it was propably a new hidden Apple feature for users in cold regions of the world :-) ).

Until today: when I used Activity Monitor just for fun: 98% CPU usage from "Agadminservice" ?? Googled that and needless to say:

The fix worked ! My MBook is cold as ice as it used to be, it´s calm, and, that´s the clue, citrix is working fine via Webinterface/Desktop Viewer and Safari , without this heating bomb agadminservice loading again!

I´m happy. Thankk you again !

The only thing about is: why th* f*** these Citrix Guys don´t know that????

Basically i did exactly what was posted at the beginning of this thread:

Opened Terminal, an then used the command

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.citrix.agadminservice.plist

That removed the "adminservice.plist" from my memory.

To use the "sudo" command in OSX Mountain Lion you probably must enable the "root" user of your Mac; per default root in MLion is deactivated:

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528

I did that, than used the sudo command (see above), and afterwards deactivated the root account again for safety reasons.

That´s it.

citrix still works on my Macbook, even without this agadamsinverice.plist. I´m not an computer or Mac expert so i can´t tell you exactly how Citrix continues to work without; as far as i understood, agadminservice.plist is a relict from a previous installation/version of citrix an is found only on Macbooks which are updated from snow Leopard or Lion (mine comes from Snow Leopard to Lion to Mountain Lion).

If you removed this agadaminservice.plist succesfully from your Mac and have problems using Citirx afterward i suggest removing Citrix and do a "fresh" reinstallation

Exceelnet solution,

after buying anew battery as mine was dying I posed the qustion applied this fix and hey my MB is running coll, and battery no longer needs replacing.

I also used the ask dave taylor site:

http://www.askdavetaylor.com/why_is_apple_macbook_pro_suddenly_running_hot.html

and then used the terminal command to kill the process:

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.citrix.agadminservice.plist

my MB now runs cool as cucumber and my battery keeps a decent charge 😀

thank you all
