Gestures not working all of a sudden?

The gestures such as three fingers and thumb swipe to open launchpad/clear desktop and three/four fingers swipe to switch between full screen apps/swipe up for mission control are not working all of a sudden, when they were 5 minutes ago. I have not changed any of the settings in system preferences.

Here we are four years later and this bug hasn't gone anywhere. This is a very frustrating bug. It happens to me all the time.

Thanks to AlexCastro88's comment, I've found out that you can open System Preferences then untick and retick the boxes for the gesture which isn't working and it will work again. That worked for me this one instance, at least.

Apple, please fix these ridiculous bugs. This is not the only Mission Control or LaunchPad bug. There are quite a bit. For instance, if I launch an application then open Mission Control before it displayes a window, the window displays normally under Mission Control. Can we please fix that yet?

i have Yosemite and after quitting Safari, all my spaces, hot corners, gestures, etc stopped working.

this is not the first time and it happened before (before was not due to safari but i didn't notice what i did before the functions disappear) and i restarted and it was back to normal.

This time round i tried Killall Dock in Terminal and it brought them all back without me having to restart.

This bug has to be squashed, Tim Cook.

Thanks for the work around!

It took me a fortnight and a half while trying to figure this problem out. I had restarted the machine a good three times, rebooted each and every automatic application that starts whenever my machine started, copied and pasted five different commands from the internet on terminal and ran them (i.e. killall Dock/pmset displaysleepnow; sleep 5; caffeinate -u -t 1./etc), and finally here I am. The most simplest and dumbest fix of them all:

Unplugging my 7th Gen IPod classic and plugging it back in. Thanks ILL-J.

I own a Macbook Pro 15", Late 2011 OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.
