This CRAP!!!! I'm using Word 2004. Just upgraded to Lion and now no word!!! VERY DISAPOINTED WITH APPLE RIGHT NOW!! I'm a HUGE apple supporter and tell everyone I know to buy APPLE ONLY as a great selling point is that Aple has always been very cross platform. Now this??? Bull.... So now I have to go and buy more frggin software?? That's crappy. Apple ought to pay me to upgrade to word 2001. Or at least warned me that some of my software would not work. If I had know that I'd have not upgraded. FIX THIS PLEASE!! I own an iPod, iPhone 4 iMac Macbook and a G5. let's do some math.. about $8000.00 in apple products in my home. Should I send youa pint of blood? ***???

Unfortunately, being as big an Apple fan as you obviously are, you must have missed the part where Apple has been saying for over six years now that PPC support would be dropped. G4 & G5 Macs were not able to run Snow Leopard. And now that support for 7 year old programs has been dropped, some people didn't seem to be prepared for it. One user was complaining they ouldn't open their '97 files!!!!!!
You can always revert to Snow Leopard

And next time you wish to update to Lion or higher, read the information about changes first.
Good Luck
Do you have MathType installed? If you do, try to convert your working file into .docx, .xlsx or .pptx, or uninstall MathType and reinstall it again, 6.7 version.
Good luck
I'm going to guess they didn't tell you that most programs aren't engineered for 64-bit computing yet. Have you tried booting your mac in 32-bit to see if you can get it to run? That's what most software these days is programmed for.
Have you tried booting your mac in 32-bit to see if you can get it to run? That's what most software these days is programmed for.
That makes no difference. Even if the Mac has started up to the 64 bit kernel, apps that are 32 bit will still run as 32 bit. In reverse, if you start the Mac to the 32 bit kernel, 64 bit apps will still run 64 bit.
The kernel does not affect the app's ability to run, no matter which way you start your Mac.
I have MS Word 2011 and it crashes almost every time on iMac with OSX Lion. I have done all MS updates.
I have followed other suggestions such as creating a new user and reinstalling MS Office 2011 etc. No luck it crashes regularly. Help!
