Safari Freezing Up (LION OSX)

After upgrading Lion OSX this morning, whenever I would go on Safari, it'd freeze on me unexpectedly. I've noticed whenever I have a lot of tabs open for different sites, it happens. Then my computer freezes. It's happened about, 3-6 times all together today. My way of trying to fix it was: Resetting Safari (checking all boxes), reset Cache, Clear history, restart safari / restart macbook pro, reset pram, and hold down the power button for 10 seconds. None of it helps, even ran Disk Utilitity, repair disk and permission etc. Still no use. Any other solutions guys? Anything would help. Everything else is running perfecto, just the safari situation.

Another thing, when i go to my menu above, Go > Home. I cannot see my library folder like before on SL. >_> Help?

Hey folks, having same problems and it's got to be Lion. Bought new MacBook Pro several days ago. Nothing installed on it, just clean out of box. Safari worked fine before Lion upgrade. Once Lion was installed, Safari was slow, would freeze and even gave me the equivalent of the Windows blue screen forcing a hard shut down.

Just posting this because i know tech support can sometimes send users down all kinds of paths chasing shadows. Admittedly, some of that may be necessary with older Macs. But, as mentioned, mine is new out of the box and I specifically did not do anything to it until upgrading the OS to Lion since i figued that should be the first thing i do. Thus, my conclusion is this is a Lion issue which i hope may save some of you the time and frustration of trying to fix. Hopefully Apple will figure it out and have an update soon.

In the meantime, i won't be upgrading to Lion on my other Mac.

I feel like we are all in the same boat together.

MBP 2.0 GHz i7 purchased in March. Prior to last week, my machine hummed. Now it coughs and sputters. Safari freezes when I have lots of windows open. I have probably forced it to close 5 times throughout the course of this work day. Also, I've noticed a lot more lag when opening and closing applications and using Launch Pad and Mission Control. There are also some 3-4 second freezes when swithing into and out of the latter two.

I thought it might be my RAM (4GB), but I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that something foul is in the air!

pretty sure we can all agree, we need a solution to the issue instead of all posting our issues. Im pretty sure its curtain that if you made a comment in this post, your having the same issue. To those who restart their machines. No need for that. Turn airport off, then turn it on again and it will work. but does anyone have a solution to this problem??? it defiantly a lion issue because this has never happened to my mac when it had snow leopard. if anyone has a solution.. give us a hand! as you all may kno, the genus bar.. well you know the rest..

In the same boat. 2 computers.......Both on Lion.......

comp 1: 2.16 ghz intel 2 duo processor, 2 gb 677 mhz ddr2 sdram, 11gb free space

OSX:

Safari:5.1 (7534.48.3)

Firefox: 3.6.3

comp 2: 2.4 ghz intel 2 duo, 4 gb 1067 mhz ddr3

OSX: 10.7

Safari: 5.1 (7534.48.3)

Firefox: 5.0.1

Comp 1 has issues with Firefox (probably due to a needed firefox upgrade), Comp 2 doesn't have issues with Safari until attempting to log on to CAC enabled websites. Then it hangs and freezes.

Comp 1 has track pad issues, it's extremely sensative now and the lightest touch while typing causes random things to happen

Comp 2 has had issues running very sluggish. Ran activity monitor it was the system sucking up the CPU. Rebooted, same issue. Restarted and booted from the new partition, Ran permission fix (several times and the same issues seemed to come up), ran fix disk (no issues), reinstalled Lion and that seemed to fix the sluggishness. Still has issues with Safari.

Most of my work is done on CAC, so this has brought me to a hault. Funny thing is, the first day everything worked like a dream (able to log on to CAC sites and everything....Even sites I'd never been able to visit before). Day 2 is when it went down hill. I have not purchased any new software, or changed any of my settings.

As upsetting as this is, though, apple seems to make right when they mess things up.....I'm confident they will do the same here.

I have also had the same freezing issue since I installed Lion; this issue never happend in Snow Leopard. The apps that seems to be culprit for my macbook laptob are safari, itunes and iphoto. It seems to happen when all three apps are being opened very close togeher.

Like most of these posts, I followeed all instructions to update the apps, clone the hard drive, slim down the hard drive, run disk utility before installing Lion...to no avail.

I agree with the several posts...Not Happy with Lion. I hope Apple gets aggresive to solve this issue.
