Safari Freezing Up (LION OSX)

Same for me. New iMac with Lion freezes frequently on playing video. Not only flash, also HTML5.

What I dont't get: wasn't the new Safari process architecture supposed to be bullet proof:

One process handles everything coming from or going to the web, while the other manages interactions with the Safari interface — such as creating a bookmark or searching your history. Now an unresponsive website won’t affect Safari, so you can keep browsing and browsing.

OK, unless a bug breaks it.....

Having the same problem Imac 27 i7 ssd 2tb fully loaded. Paid about 3000 dollars for the computer i always wanted and it locks up. It only locks up in safari when watching videos qucktime or flash. it locks up about 50% of the time. have to hold the power button. Help anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's an update posted by Apple today. I think it will take care of a lot of the "freezing" issues that have been happening.

Mine too. I was hoping the upgrade would take care of it. I can't even use it anymore. It always seems to freeze when I'm in the middle of something important. C'mon Apple.........I have all the faith in the world in you and your ability to get this taken care of, whatever it is. But PLEASE......let's get it taken care of quickly before I transition totally to Firefox!

Resetting the PRAM did not work. Just tried and not 10 minutes later, Safari froze. I'm hoping someone from Apple is paying attention to this. Next time, I'll report the bug. Hopefully, it will contain some type of information that will be useful in getting this issue corrected.😢

Over here: no freezes anymore since the update to 10.7.1.

OK. Downoaded the OS Lion patch during the week supposedly to fix the Safari instability. This time it crashed without Flash doing anything - so I think the Apple engineers don't really know what to do. But they sure are causing my machine to malfunction and for the premium I do expect better.

I'm going to download Chrome to see what happens.

Installing 10.7.1 on my 2011 27" iMac i5 seems to have totally fixed the problem. No more freezes in 3-4 days of use.

The update has fixed the problem for me as well! Now I don't know if this is new or not, but under System Preferences and Engery Saver there is an option with a checkmark that says "restart automatically if the computer freezes". I thought Macs didn't freeze? Anyway... am glad it's working now!

I'm still getting freezes and it's very frustrating. Last night, I trashed my Safari preference hoping that would help and it did not. I am current on all my updates, repair permissions regularly, clean my system including dumping cookies, caches, etc. all the time. I've dumped Safari entirely and re-installed and still have the issue. I've decided that I'm not going to deal with the aggrivation and use FireFox from now on.

10.7.1 didn't help me either. I've got a 2007 iMac and last night Safari was pretty much unusable. I switched to Chrome and had no issues whatsoever. I really hope they get this worked out soon. I'm been extremely disappointed with Lion.
