Can't login to Server management app

I installed Lion server this evening and I was able to access the Server management app. However just recently I'm no longer able to connect. Even the dashboard server widget doesn't display any info and just says "network error". The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was running the disk utility and verifying/repairing permissions. Is there any way that I can regain access to the Server management settings? Thanks.

I was/am having a similar problem on my MacPro, and the launchctl solution did allow me to connect via both "Server" and "Server Admin", both of which were failing before (as with others, it stopped working after a recent reboot). However, I'm worried that this isn't the whole solution. I notice that "About This Mac" no longer says Server; it just says "Mac OS X", like my macbook and imac. I'm pretty sure my MacPro used to say "Mac OS X Server" in the "About This Mac" dialogue. Furthermore, when I start "App Store", I can see my "OS X Lion Server" under Purchases, but now it has an INSTALL button, instead of saying "INSTALLED". if I click the INSTALL button, it says "Server is already installed on this computer.". So something has definitely gone awry...
