Mail 5 (OSX Lion) does not work after mailbox migration

Mail is not working in Lion.

After the mail data migration finishes the message window does not appear.

I've tried deleting the data files from Library/Mail, copying my backup data and restarting the data migration. Also tried disabling all bundles and deleting the Evnvelope* files in /MailData.

Anyone suffering from the same? Any ideas? Thanks

Just upgraded to 10.8.3 and add the problem described above. Did the trick of moving V2 content to the 'Mail' folder. That go Mail to open and download content on the servers, but I can not import my old mail.

When I go to 'Import Mailboxes' and select anything, it says there is an error will not proceed.

Suggestions?

Similar issue: I migrated my user account to a MacBook Air (OS X 10.8) using Migration Asssitant from a Time Machine disk.

—Mail indexed my old messages, but no Message Viewer window appears

—Typing Cmd-0 causes Mail to quit

I then moved ~/Library/Mail folder to the desktop, and relaunched Mail, creating a new account and intending to use Import Mailboxes to access my old emails. After checking for messages and downloading new emails, Mail now exhibits the same behavior: cmd-0 crashes it. I also tried moing the contents of the V2 folder up one level as suggested but Mail just created a new V2 folder.

I had a similar issue when upgrading to Mt. Lion and now to Mavericks.

I have 3 email accounts (Exchange, iCloud, IMAP), but the problem only happened with the Exchange account.

When upgrading the mail database, all mailbox folders with special characters (punctuation or other characters) were duplicated i.e., the mailbox was imported with a "-2" added to its name.

Therefore, the Index could not find those messages in Mail, although they could be located in Finder (Mail, V2) under the respective account and mbox folder.

It only happened with mailboxes with punctuation. Inbox, Trash etc was fine, but mailboxes like "José.mbox" became "José-2.mbox" (only in Finder, not in Mail). changing the name back didn't do any good.

Tried all the solutions described here but everytime Mail duplicated such mbox. Any suggestions?

I know I can erase the account and dl everything from Exhange back againg, but its 20GB of messages!

Thanks!
