cannot zoom after install of Lion on MackBook Pro -

I installed Lion on my MacBook Pro laptop. I enabled all the trackpad features to be able to pinch and zoom, but none of them are working. Everything worked with Snow Leopard. I also noticed that the finder boxes no longer seem to have the size slider in the lower right corner so my pictures remain too small for me to see. - Any fixes?

Well, your picture shows the manual way to do it, not the gesture way. Plus, to see that little "zoom bar", it means that you also have to have a frame at the bottom of your windows, which is a non-sense as the whole point of Lion is to make the user interface lighter.

So yes, it does the trick, but the the pinch to zoom feature of Snow Leopard was way more convenient and intuitive.

You're right, I just checked, and it does the trick only in the native "Image" folder of the Finder, but not in every folders.

Unbelievable, so it means that there is an option, but it can only be used in certain folders where Apple decided that we may need it ???

What operating system is that ? I'm very close to install Windows 7 on my Mac for that simple reason. Who are we kidding here ? Snow Leopard had the feature, why would they remove it ????

Guys,

I do not remember the "pinching zoom" in SL, s my apologies.

There is also another way to zoom the screen and I don't know if this is what you are talking about (I have a MacBook that does not have the fancy trackpad capabilities, my desktop has the fancy trackpad)

One can always zoom using control+ trackpad.

That is press control key then move your 2 fingers over the trackpad. Towards the screen it zooms in, towards you it zooms out.

Hope this help.

Me too, I also found out today that my brand new Wester Digital Media Player will not work with Lion because Apple

removed SMB, which will make Lion incompatible with tons of network devices.

If they don't fix it, I'm back to Snow Leopard, or Windows.

I did not spend 2000 dollars in a laptop to have the limited features of an IPad.

VERY disappointed and upset.

There is a replacement of Samba called now SMBX. It seems to work fine in my case with Synology NAS. As long as I know, SMBX supports both SMB1 and SMB2, so it should work in your case too. Have you tried connect to the device using its IP address and "command-k" panel in Finder? The address would be then something like: "smb://192.168.0.5/share_name"

I'll give a try, but many people have the problem.

Think of it, Lion did not add 250 features, it removed 250 features. Honestly, this is my first Mac, and I really liked Snow Leopard. But if they don't update Lion quickly, this will be my first and last Mac. I use it for work, not only to watch videos and check my mail,

I need a real OS, not iOS.

Oh, even better, Mac Mail, in full screen, does not respond sometimes, have to quit the app and restart it. So even Mission Control is not working properly.

I wonder if they tested the OS before launching it, Windows 7 is more optimized than that.
