cannot zoom after install of Lion on MackBook Pro -

I installed Lion on my MacBook Pro laptop. I enabled all the trackpad features to be able to pinch and zoom, but none of them are working. Everything worked with Snow Leopard. I also noticed that the finder boxes no longer seem to have the size slider in the lower right corner so my pictures remain too small for me to see. - Any fixes?

PROBLEM SOLVED. Sort off.

Just want to say, Osx Lion Stinks. Should have stayed with Snow Leopard.

It is possible to adjust the Icon/Thumbnail Size but not on the scroll bar on the bottom right of the Finder.

You must go into Menu, VIEW, Show View Options. Adjust the Icon Size bar there.

1. On my Macbook Pro, as i adjusted the Icon Size, the Icon Size scroll bar on the Finder also moved too. Now the Icon Size bar on Finder is fixed. I can now control the Icon Size using the scroll at the bottom of finder.

2. On my Imac, only the Icon changed, this did not fix Finder Icon Size scroll bar. I can only adjust Icon size through "Menu, VIEW, Show View Options"

Am guessing after reboot, i will have to do this again.

I am glad to hear that other people are having the same problem and are as frustrated as I am that Apple removed this feature in Lion. I used the pinch to zoom contantly on the desktop and in the finder, it was so useful. Know you have to Control Click - Show View Options - Icon Size. How inconvient for something that used to be a simple gesture. I also found that pinch to zoom doesn't work in some Adobe Applications such as Illustrator on the artboard. Very frustrating, PLEASE FIX.

I went from Lion to snow leopard . Never been happier now that lion is off my laptop . This could be a form of protest that I think should be done by any not in love with lion . Enough people do this and write apple about why they went back to SL , perhaps they will be inclined to compromise . We the consumer have a great deal of power if we will only use it .......... boycotts work ! IOS ? that's fine if your on a cell phone ......... don't force it on my comp when real work needs to be done efficiently .

Apple introduced OSX Mountain Lion today.

Apple this is your big chance -- FIX THIS PROBLEM with the new operating system. It would be soooo easy for you to correct this mistake. Do it TODAY if you can (and you can) but at least do it by the time you release Mountain Lion.

I posted here, shortly after I upgraded my MacbookPro 17" and 27" Imac to Lion, to join many others to ask Apple to correct this mistake. I was hopeful that given so many people were depending on the seemingly simple but extremely useful feature of pinch to zoom in finder...Apple will surely give this feature back to us in a quick patch. After all, without us as supportive customers, Apple is nothing. Surely Apple wouldn't forget how it got to where it is today.

This was many months ago. I have since downgraded my Imac to SL and bootcamped by Macbook Pro to run Windows. After all, if I have to use a slide to resize icons, then I can return to being a "PC" as "Mac" ***** now.

Apparently, Apple with its arrogance and financial mights no longer needs its customers. I have yet seen even an acknowledgement from Apple (I apologize if I am wrong) that it had made a mistake, that it recognizes customers' needs, and that it will take corrective actions. Nope. We are just a bunch of annoying and insignificant complainers that won't let Apple tell us how we should use the computers we own!

If Apple is reading this, this is not the same as Flash vs HTML5. We are talking about a very useful feature, for anyone that has to manage 1000s of cliparts, images, and etc., that was removed without any rightful justification. We know and you (Apple) know that it is very easy for you to put it back. And when you still haven't done so for this long, for over 6 months, it is just arrogance!

I now suspect this was an intentional move as part of the (silly imho) move to unify iOS and OS X UI and gestures...

E.g. probably something genius along the lines of "files should really only be viewed by the appropriate app", or "the icon grid should not be resizable, and should be discouraged", blah, blah, blah...

Still bugs the heck out of me, and will greatly miss SL if I upgrade my hardware...
