cannot zoom after install of Lion on MackBook Pro -

I installed Lion on my MacBook Pro laptop. I enabled all the trackpad features to be able to pinch and zoom, but none of them are working. Everything worked with Snow Leopard. I also noticed that the finder boxes no longer seem to have the size slider in the lower right corner so my pictures remain too small for me to see. - Any fixes?

Thank you for your response, but it is not the size of the box but the size of the icons and photograph thumbnails.

There used to be a slider on the bottom right corner of the finder box, and under Snow Leopard, I used to be able to open and zoom with my fingers on the trackpad, but now that does not work. I can scroll correctly and allt he poptions are enabled in systems preferences, but NO zoom....

Hi - yes I found that too, but the feature of zooming is advertized as working in Lion - and it clearly is not working on my machine. I shutdown, restarted, and it looks like nothing that I do int he Systems Preferences under trackpad has any affect at all, even when I uncheck everything and then restart, all the same scrolling works, but still not tap, or pinch and zoom.... This should be working -

I think the pinch to zoom feature in the folders and on the desktop is simply... gone.

No one can get it to work, so Apple simply removed that feature, which is unbelievable, as I was using it extensively, and they did not add any shortcut to do it.

I hope they will fix it, or that there is an app out there (free app of course) that can do so.

Guys, if you find a way to get it back, let us know !

Hi and thank you for your suggestions. The hide path when shown will only show the path of the file highlighted but still does not have the slider function to make the icons or photographs larger as it used to in snow leopard. I have a call scheduled with Apple Lion Support for later this afternoon and will share and post any information that comes from that call. I cannot believe that apple would not have this function in its latest operating system... I used it all the time and miss it and may revert back to snow leopard if I cannot get it in Lion...

I JUST Found that the slider can be made to return in a finder folder by Menu>View>Show Status Bar - this puts the slider to make the icons larger or smaller back on the folder window.... Thank you

i just got off the phone with Tech Support for Apple about this issue. There are some nuances in the genstures that will take practice to master but they do operate on certain applications. In Safari I was able to get the pinch and zoom to work but on Firefox I could not - Firefox is not yet Lion compatable for that feature. The same thing for some of the office applications and even Finder wouldn't allow me to just pinch and zoom. So I guess patience may be the answer for some apps...

Well, it still does not explain why we cannot pinch to zoom on the desktop or the finder. So basically, the "most advanced OS in the world" does not allow to resize thumbnails ?

Apple really has to stop deciding for people what they need, and let them customize their OS, by leaving the option for the user to activate it or not.
