Lion and Magic Trackpad: drag lock gone?

Generally loving the Lion update... but where did some of the trackpad options go?

"Tap to click" is still there... but what about dragging and drag lock? You used to be able to double-tap-and-hold, and then you could drag an item with the pointer locked down. Another tap would release the drag lock.

I hope this is not gone for good...

This post just made my day. I never thought such a little thing would bother me but I was so adept at one-finger lock dragging and I was finding it hard to get used to three fingers (it's impossible to be precise!).

Why on earth they moved that option to the Universal Access panel is anyone's guess. I would never have thought to look there.

Thanks again.

Feedback is a very good initiative. I recommend to paste the link of our discussions on the feedback form.

My MacBook Pro (Apr 2011) was still Snow Leopard. My upgrade to Lion didn't give me troubles with trackpad. But my parents have purchased their MacBooks on october, with Lion installed. Up to now I didn`t manage to solve this issue (dragging only with 3 fingers). My mother has herself attached a mouse to make it easy.

We were thinking about installing everything from zero, with Snow Leopard and then upgrading to Lion, like I did in my own MacBook Pro, to get rid of this ridiculous 3 fingers dragging feature.

Now I will try this tip on their computers. Hope it works for every MacBook Pro.

Thank you. Please keep on sharing your good experiences and giving feedbacks to Apple, before they loose track again...

Regards,

Ciro.
