I have upgraded to OS X Lion and I get this error every time I watch any type of video: there was a problem connecting to the server URLs with this type of file "files" are not supported

the problem for me was caused due to Time Machine. After the upgrade, I started getting the "URL : File...." problem.

Fix:

1. Connect your hard drive you normally use to with time machine. Or Make sure you are connected to the Time Capsule if you do it that way.

2. On the time machine dialogue box, turn OFF the backup, and then turn it back again.

3. You will need to specify the same hard drive or time capsule.

NOte: you do not loose the earlier backup (I feared that), it simply knows that it already has backup of your machine and continues with the normal backup.

Hope this solves the problem for you guys

I'm having the same problem and have been on the phone with apple support about an hour per day three days this week. I also went to the genius bar in town. They've had me doing one thing or the other, including re-uploading Mountain Lion. Nothing works. They also treat this issue as if it's the strangest thing they've ever heard or seen from anyone. I'm shocked to see so many folks have already posted about it. I was started to think it was just my computer.
