Apani and Cisco VPN's not working after Lion update

All,

Updated to Lion last night and this morning am not able to use either VPN product. I am getting error 51 when trying with the Cisco Client and "unable to connect to 127.0.0.1" with the Apani Client. Help please?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), i7

I am getting the same problem since upgrading to Lion.

Ive tried to restart the Kernel but get

sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/CiscoVPN.kext

Password:

/System/Library/Extensions/CiscoVPN.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8)

I then checked the logs and found this error message ..

26/07/11 4:08:03.493 PM com.apple.kextd: Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/CiscoVPN.kext - no code for running kernel's architecture.

Do we have to wait for Cisco to bring out a new version ?

Should this be logged as a bug as there does not appear to be any code for the VPN Kernel ?

I really dont want to have to boot my computer into 32 bit mode .

Unfortunately only Apani and Cisco, respectively, can fix this issue as they own those products. 😟

Cisco has transitioned VPN support to their AnyConnect client; contact your IT department for a copy.

In the mean time, some people have been able to connect to their VPN servers using the VPN client built in to Mac OS X; it's certainly worth a try.

Otherwise, yes, you'll need to boot back into 32-bit mode by holding down the "3" and "2" keys during a restart.
