I want Front Row Back

I'm sure I'm like a lot of other people here. I want my Front Row back.....

I listen to a lot of Podcasts, watch movies from an SMB share, look at my photos, oh and listen to music. Front Row has done this for year after year, and last night, once I found it was gone, I wanted to go back to SL. How can Apple think they'll ship the new OS without the media center (Front Row) which has been around since what? 2005-8?

Honestly, if this is some sort of push (on their part) to their iCloud crap, they are in for a rude awakening.

Apple should stop taking away our functionality. This one step forward and two steps back is getting really lame.

Plus, there also seem's to be a lot of bugs. new one for me is then I have my two 24" displays connected (3 screens total). Once I plug my iPXXXXX in both 24" displays go back!!! OMG The insanity!!!

I'm in the same boat as you guys!!! I love my Front Row, I use it all the time. I love to lounge on the couch, fire up iTunes and stick it on full random and let 'er rip! I have my MBP hooked up to my 40" Samsung HDTV, optical cable to the surround sound stereo for 5.1, with a wireless keyboard and mouse, and of course my trusty white remote, listen to music and just hit next when I don't like a song. I know I can do the same thing in iTunes, but with front row and remote, I can switch playlists, find songs ect. ect. without getting up and grabbing the mouse and keyboard. And it's truly great for showing friends photo's on the TV! I also use the movie trailers as well. I really hope someone figures out a way to get iTunes recognized again.

Does not matter that took Apple, Plex is much better alternative because it is show the weather to!
But I do not understand why need two chat program? IChat+Facetime? Skype is much better becouse works on every platform! also, why is the ugly chess still part of the system? they are much better games in app store for free!!!???

The problem is not to weed out the system, the problem is
why not availeble to download in the App Store? as an extra if someone miss this Front Row app

Does PLEX work with the Apple Remote I paid for? I like Front Row and use it in my computer room and office area where I do not have my HDTV. This looks like Apple's blatant move to get everyone to purchase the Apple TV instead of just using their Mac. Or maybe Apple is, in fact, about to introduce an Apple-branded TV and removing Front Row creates an instant market? How does Apple make these decisions? Maybe I can sell my remote on eBay to someone who is still using SL.

Hello Zoltan and others, I've read in a few places that reinstalling Front Row works as long as you DON'T download the latest iTunes. The word is that once iTunes .4 is installed, Front Row will not work even if its reinstalled. Is this correct or not? I'd rather have FR on my Mac, but would also like to hear from anyone on the post if you PREFER Plex or XBMC?

I would love to have front row back. PLEASE give it back. I use it on my 27 inch iMac all the time. Since I dont have a tv in my room it was perfect. I don't really have an elgato because I can only afford so much. Frontrow was a great option. I was able to buy all my shows and watch them direct. And the great thing about front row being no silly unreliable wireless connectivity. I have an appletv 2 in my family room but access and connectivity and internet dependability are all factors. Its the main reason I would have prefered the original appletv. so a mac mini with front row may make it to my family room if front row makes a comeback. Even if they just made it and stuck it on app store. I do not want to pay for it though. I already owned it. just make it accessible again. I was sold on the idea of digital hub and not cloud. Oh and ya I bought a stupid remote just for Frontrow. How about including it as an app for the remote???

+1 to get Front Row back... along with a proper support of the Apple Remote (on my systems, the remote will not even wake up the monitor when in sleep (the monitor, not the mac).
